When quiet content becomes the best choice

I’ve been thinking about how my viewing habits have changed recently. I used to watch a lot of fast-paced, energetic videos no matter the time, but now I notice that in the evening I almost automatically avoid them. It feels like my mind just wants something softer and slower. Do you think this shift happens naturally with time, or is it more about daily stress building up?

For me it’s definitely connected to how the day goes. If it’s been busy or overwhelming, I can’t handle anything intense at night. I start looking for calm, almost hypnotic

videos — like gentle movements, soft voices, or even just repetitive scenes. It’s strange how something so simple can feel so satisfying. I used to think it was boring, but now I actually look forward to it. It helps me slow down internally, not just pass time.

When We Use Apps

I’ve been noticing that I don’t really “plan” to use apps on my phone anymore — it just kind of happens throughout the day. Like when I’m waiting for something, taking a short break, or even just out of habit, I’ll unlock my phone and open something without thinking. It’s very different from how I use my laptop, where I usually have a clear reason. I’m curious, in what situations do you usually open apps on your phone?

For me it’s mostly those in-between moments — waiting in line, sitting in transport, or even during short pauses at work. I rarely sit down and say “I’m going to use my phone for an hour.” It’s more like quick interactions that add up over time. I actually read this https://www.oxpoll.com/blog/why-mobile-sessions-feel-different-from-every-other-digital-routine/ and it explained why these short sessions feel so natural. Since then I’ve noticed how often I reach for my phone without even realizing it. I try to be a bit more intentional now, but it’s definitely a habit.

Has anyone ever totally lost their Samsung remote right before a big game night? Last week, I tore apart my couch cushions and still couldn’t find it. Ended up staring at the TV like it owed me something. Wondering if there are any creative ways to just turn the thing on without the remote, because honestly, tapping the buttons on the TV feels like a relic from the Stone Age.

Oh, I’ve been there more times than I care to admit. One time, I was stuck with a completely vanished remote and had to improvise. Eventually, I found some tricks online that let you power the TV without the remote, like using a smartphone app or the small manual buttons on the TV itself. It’s surprisingly simple once you know how. If you want, you can Control TV from iPhone it helped me a lot and saved me from unplugging the whole thing every time.
